A review on non-destructive evaluation of construction materials and structures using magnetic sensors

چکیده

The growing demand towards life cycle sustainability has created a tremendous interest in non-destructive evaluation (NDE) to minimize manufacturing defects and waste, improve maintenance extend service life. Applications of Magnetic Sensors (MSs) NDE civil Construction Materials detect damage deficiencies have become great recent years. This is due their low cost, non-contact data collection, high sensitivity under the influence external stimuli such as strain, temperature humidity. There been several advancements MSs over years for strain evaluation, corrosion monitoring, etc. based on magnetic property changes. However, these are at nascent stages development, thus, there challenges that exist. paper summarizes applications engineering. Principle functions different types discussed, comparative characteristics presented. research highlighted main advantages critically reviewed.
